My name is Chensen Qi. I received the B.E. degree in electrical engineering and automation from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, in 2016. I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. degree at Power and Energy Center, Virginia Tech.

Skills & Education
With extensive research experiences at Virginia Tech and Washington State University, I have gained a solid foundation in optimizing distribution systems with distributed energy resources (DERs). I have been working on various projects, including distribution system resilience enhancement, transmission and distribution (T&D) co-simulation, and electric vehicle ancillary service markets.

Research Experience
2020 - now
Develop protocols for home appliances in the scope of Transactive Energy. Designed a blockchain-based Electric Vehicle Charging Management System: EV-TRADing Energy & Services (EV-TRADES). Proposed the concept of Transactive Energy for EVs providing ancillary service in the power grid.
2018 - 2020
Designed an Outage Management System based on the Advanced Meter Infrastructure for the distribution system. Designed Feeder Restoration Module with Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) for the distribution system.
2016 - 2017
Developed microgrid control and distribution system partition algorithm. Proposed the cyber-security metric of remote terminal units at the distribution system level
Work Experience
2018 - now
Work as a Graduate Research Assistant on several projects. Including AGGREGATE Project, Transactive Energy for EV Charging Management that are supported by DOE, and Virginia Tech perspectively.
Work as a Graduate Teaching Assistant on Electrical Energy Distribution Systems (EE 4984), and Power Systems under Abnormal Operating Conditions (ECE 5984) courses.
